Discover the world of Spanish language and culture! This 10-week course will provide you with the initial tools you need to start using the Spanish language to communicate and function in a variety of real-life situations. Develop skills in reading, listening, speaking, and writing in Spanish, and gain insight into the richness and beauty of Spanish speaking culture.
Participants must have basic knowledge of the Spanish language, for example: subject pronouns, interrogative questions, present tense of verbs Ser and Estar, and present tense of regular verbs ending in -ar, -er, -ir, and the periphrastic future. Also, participants should be able to produce short sentences verbally about their daily life.

And so begins our first book, The Swan Thieves, by Elizabeth Kostova. We will read four novels where the dominant theme centers on either art or an artist and their work. Fine arts and literature come alive through lively discussion and Power Point slides. The artwork as well as the novel will be discussed.
