beer glasses at pub - sxc"Sold Down the River: How the Willamette Valley Became Dammed" with Dr. William Lang
Tuesday, November 26
6:30-8:00 p.m.
The Old Church at Wilsonville McMenamins

During the 1930s, dam builders focused on harnessing the Columbia’s hydropower potential, but they also saw potential for dams in the Willamette Valley. Without hydropower benefits, though, it was a hard sell. How did they do it and what did it accomplish?

The presentation will touch on the relationships between the Columbia and Willamette Valley dams and the politics that made them possible.
