oregon reads 2014 - orIn 2009 the Oregon Library Association asked Oregonians to read the same books in celebration of the Oregon Sesquicentennial.

In 2014, Oregon Reads commemorates the centennial of Oregon’s most celebrated poet, William Stafford. The goal is to once again involve 80,000 Oregonians in Oregon Reads 2014, in communities and on campuses throughout the state.

Throughout the winter, the library will offer the following programs in conjunction with Oregon Reads 2014:

  • Oregon Poet Laureate Paulann Petersen talks on Wednesday, January 29, at 6:00 PM, in the Oak Room. Free admission.
  • Literary seminar on William Stafford (January 29-March 19)
