K-2 Book Adventures One Thursday a month, 4:00 to 4:45 pm Oak Room Explore excellent books, classic tales, and favorite authors through storytelling, puppetry, and other fun activities. For children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Thursday, February 21: Author Celebration: Dr. Seuss Thursday, March 21: Silly Stories Thursday, April 18: K-2 Favorites  Thursday, May 16: Dig into Reading  No sign-up is required. Read to the Dogs Share a favorite book with a special listener: a certified therapy dog from the Dove Lewis Animal Assisted Therapy and Education Program. Children can sign up for 15-minute sessions of reading to dogs at the Wilsonville Public Library! The child chooses the book and how much reading and petting to do. The dog handler encourages interaction with the dog and will offer reading help if the child requests it. Stop by the Library or call us at 503-570-1592 to sign up for a 15-minute session. Newbery Book Discussion Group For kids in Grades 3-5 Discuss a different Newbery book from the past at each meeting. Read from a list of possible contenders for this year’s Newbery Medal. Vote for the Library’s “Mock-Newbery” winning book in January. Talk about more books you like with other kids. All meetings are in the Rose Room from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Friday, October 19 Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin (read this book before the meeting!)
